HomeGREENHOUSE BUYING GUIDE

Small & mini greenhouses

A little protected space for seedlings, salads and a sheltered patio.

Who is this type for?

A mini greenhouse suits seed trays, small pots and gardeners who need protection in a compact sheltered space. It is less suitable for tall crops or for maintaining a controlled winter temperature.

Five things to check

  1. Measure the usable interior, shelving and door opening.
  2. Read the anchoring instructions and assess wind exposure.
  3. Check ventilation: you need to release heat on sunny days.
  4. Confirm replacement parts, glazing or covers are available.
  5. Include base work, delivery and assembly in the budget.

Choose around your plants

Seed trays benefit from staging; tall tomatoes need headroom and strong supports. Leave access for watering and for opening windows. Plan the space using the mature plants’ dimensions rather than the size of their nursery pots.
